How does McDonald’s cook burgers so fast? Part of the answer is that they use large grills that can cook many patties at once. The grill I used when I worked there could cook 24 regular patties and 12 Quarter Pounder patties simultaneously. The grills have a clamshell top that cooks the burgers from both sides.
